Kung Fu Panda makes debut

Kung Fu Panda starring Angelina Jolie, Jack Black and Dustin Hoffman has finally reached the cinemas.

The film had its London premiere last week and is the tale of a blundering panda called Po who has to save a threatened village from the evil snow leopard warrior Tai Lung.

Po is voiced by Black who aspires to be like the kung fu fighters trained by Master Shifu who is played by Hoffman.

The film has already taken $156 million at the US box office over three weekends.

Black has revealed the secret to the film's success: "It's got a good mix. It's got the kung fu action and you got the funniness and you also got the spiritual nuggets sprinkled in there."
